Divine. . .Peach Cobbler

My peach cobbler could beat up your peach cobbler (um. . .I can only say that because I strictly followed a recipe).

I asked one my friends, who is gifted in the kitchen, Rachel, for a good peach cobbler recipe. She said that she didn't have one, but that I should look at the food network online.

I took her advice and found an easy recipe with lots of butter and sugar (perfect). I mean LOTS of butter. The recipe was by Paula Deen, who I hear, is all about the butter, sugar, cream, and lard.

Here's the recipe, I have never had such a good cobbler, NOT EVEN FROM A DUTCH OVEN!

the most amazing thing about this is that I didn't mess the recipe up, and I am not a very good baker/chef (those who know me are laughing right now)

Paula's Peach Cobbler

Ingredients
4 cups peeled, sliced peaches
2 cups sugar, divided
1/2 cup water
8 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups milk
Ground cinnamon, optional

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine the peaches, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.

Put the butter in a 3-quart baking dish and place in oven to melt.

Mix remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle top with ground cinnamon, if using. Batter will rise to top during baking. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.

To serve, scoop onto a plate and serve with your choice of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

oohhh! I'll have to try it cause it looks delicious. I'm not very good at cooking either so I'll have to see if I can pull it off:)

MMMM, my favorite dessert! Paula is all about the fat, I love her. I'm definately going to have to try this one. I can't believe she listed the cinnamon as 'optional' though, tsk, tsk, the cinnamon is a must on this and vanilla bean ice cream of course. :)
